Current computer modeling of the project rates the building at over 90% more efficient than the EPA's Energy Star standard. Post-construction performance testing, a requirement for Energy Star certification, will determine the final energy rating.

The project is also registered under the U.S. Greenbuilding Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program and the newly released Chicago Green Homes program. The original design goal was LEED Silver certification. The building, however, has undergone a massive redesign and after re-evaluation of points, the goal is now LEED Platinum! This was accomplished almost solely by increasing the energy efficiency of the building envelope and thereby vastly reducing the carbon footprint of the development. The building qualifies for the highest rating of 3 Stars under the new Chicago Green Homes certification.
