ELFI Wall System stands at the inflection point of a rapidly developing shift in wall and roof construction system manufacturing. Our young company has the opportunity to lead and to capitalize on this shift.

Across the U.S., steel studs have been used in commercial developments for well over 20 years. Now, the trend toward steel studs is quickly moving into the residential building industry. ELFI is prepared to penetrate both markets, commercial and residential, with the right quality at the right price.

Prefabricated elements are becoming more common. Examples include roofing trusses, wooden prefab walls, and SIP panels. Two important trends are merging here; the use of light-gauge steel studs with prefabricated panels. This creates a demand for the exact products ELFI’s expertise and capabilities can deliver.

• ELFI’s products comprise steel studs on 16-inch centers engulfed in expanded polystyrene foam (EPS).

As a start-up manufacturer, ELFI began in the spring of 2002 to manufacture and sell these superior residential and commercial wall and roof construction systems. These products, employing light-gauge, steel-studded, prefabricated wall and roofing systems, offer significant customer (builders, developers, architects) and end-user benefits. These include:

• Up to 50% energy efficiency gains through superior insulation
• Simplicity of installation and significant reductions (20-40%) in on-site construction time
• Safety: greater fire resistance, mold-resistant properties, no termites, no airborne chemical out gassing issues…

George Modrovic, the managing partner of the ELFI LLC, has a broad technical background that includes mechanical design, manufacturing, testing and trouble-shooting of heavy industrial equipment, and five years with the ELFI prefabricated wall system.

His formal education began at the Slovak Institute of Technology (in the former Czechoslovakia) and continued in the U.S. through advanced studies in economics, sales, and management.

George Modrovic currently serves on the Educational and Research Committee of the USGBC, Chicago Chapter.
